I have had a strong bent for drawing for as long as I can remember. Studying art at the a University of Illinois, then transferring to Western Washington, I earned a BA in Fine Art. I drew maps for a land surveyor for years, giving me a steady hand but creativity wasn’t part of drawing property lines.
I taught many after school classes through the Anacortes School District and workshops at the Museum of Northwest Art in LaConner, offering realism and perspective drawing.
Inspired by what I see around me on Fidalgo Island, I’ve been challenged to get out my oils and paint. Finally blessed with the insight that I most enjoy painting animals, I now do mostly commissioned portraits focusing on those beautiful patterns in fur and feathers, small landscapes in themselves.
